James M. Barrie (1860-1937),  list of works
Although he is best known as the creator of Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie wrote many plays, Quality Street and The Admirable Crichton among them, and several novels, including The Little Minister. Barrie started his career as a journalist and book reviewer, in which position he began to write novels. The success of a stage adaptation of The Little Minister led him to write plays, most of which were set in his native Scotland and characterized by fantastical, sentimental tones.
