Maria Agata Szymanowska (1789 - 1831),  list of works
A Polish performer who became a hit on the Western European salon circuit, Maria Szymanowska charmed aristocrats and commoners alike with her delicate touch on the piano. Her frequent concert tours brought her into contact with the music of many Western European societies—particularly England, where she was struck by the enchanting "nocturnes" concocted by John Field. A noted composer herself, Szymanowska began incorporating aspects of Field's style into her own, and her performances of Field's work had a great deal of impact on the young Frédéric Chopin.
